RESIDENTIAL REFURBISHMENT - Richmond
This project is a major refurbishment of a period residence
on a 785sqm. corner site in Richmond.
Strategically, there was an attempt to preserve views of the
existing fabric as seen from the street and direct as much physical
change to the property’s private external and internal areas.
This meant that the intended brief could be achieved within the
constraints of neighbourhood amenity and townplanning requirements
without undue disruption to elements of existing value.
Externally, the works were deliberately subdued to better enhance
the eclectic qualities of the original building and to preserve
various landscape features including and Irish Strawberry in the
front garden. Works to private external areas centred around an
internal landscape of hard and soft finishes which relate to a
palette of similar materials used internally, along with a swimming
pool and outdoor spa.
Internally, the house was thoroughly re-worked using a range
of high level finishes to provide for an expansive distribution
of contemporary living, working (home office), guest and recreational
zones over two levels.
